GOLDEN OLDIES

Having played the first match in the year 1877, the Australian Cricket Team is the oldest playing international cricket team till date. The Australian Cricket Team mainly draws its players from the domestic teams in the country like the Sheffield Shield, Big bash League and Australian Domestic One day series.

WE MISS GILCHRIST

When Gilchrist retired from all forms of international cricket, it was a sad day for Australian cricket.

They have attempted to replace him with Brad Haddin, but Haddin has been unable to match Gilchrist’s brilliance when it comes to both the keeping side and the batting side required of the role.

Haddin’s place in the side now appears to be under serious threat from the youngster Matthew Wade, with his top score of 72 catching the eye of spectators and pundits alike.

LEE INJURED IN T20

Australian paceman Brett Lee faces a four-to-six week lay-off after fracturing his foot in a Twenty20 match against India.

The 35 year-old fast bowler, second on the list of Australian One Day International wicket takers behind Glenn McGrath, was struck by the ball during the last over of his spell at the MCG on Friday night.

Australia subsequently slumped to an eight-wicket defeat, and team doctor Trefor James explained how Lee’s foot became swollen the following day.
